    The instrumentation is good, the song structures stay interesting and the vocals are scream-a-long worthy. I gotta say, it's the melodies/riffs that really get me on this one. Do yourself a favor and do Big Ups a favor and buy this album. This is one of the catchier and more engrossing albums released this year thus far/5(3).

    Jan 15,  · Before a Million Universes is the second full-length from this noisy NYC three-piece. Big Ups make a razor-sharp post-punk full of hardcore vocals, low-slung bass and ragged guitar playing.8/10(1).

    May 02,  · Although I have to admit, going into Before a Million Universes, I was a little worried to see tracks that were over five minutes in length because Big Ups, on their last album, kept things brief (“Wool” was the longest song on that album and it clocked in at , also making it the only song over three minutes).     Big Ups' Before A Million Universes dives into fun and interesting themes without getting too political. The production is diverse enough to get you hooked since the beggining, even though there are some moments where the crescendo can get tedious, it's gripping nonetheless.
